This is my blog to tell women and girls about self defense.

Let's start:
  • Be aware: "All the senses like vision, touch, sound, smell or taste will help keep you away from the danger, it keeps you safe," says Magda. Use them. Never walk on your own while texting, talking on the phone, listening to music or checking Facebook and Twitter! This will put you in danger and make you vulnerable for attack. Make sure to avoid problematic situations by firstly being aware of your surroundings. This is key.
  • Use common objects: Scan your surrounding for objects that may be able to help during attack. Using a chair, rubbish bin, or even your 5-inch heels can all do some serious damage. Don't hesitate to grab what you can. Whether it's your keys or phone, try to buy yourself more time to runaway or get help. Never hesitate.
  • Scream as hard as possible: From a defence point of view, Magda says it's extremely important to shout as loud and as soon as you can. Say what's happening to you such as 'he grabbed my bag' or 'he has a knife'. This might help you get someone to call for help quicker.
  • Bite, pinch and scratch: If your life's in danger you need to do whatever possible to come out of it safely. Do whatever you can. Magda says, "the more aggression you put into your action, the better for you."
  • Run away as quick as possible: As soon as you get the opportunity - run away. Go to the police station or the nearest local restaurant or shop. NEVER attempt to stay in the same area or spot.
